Kadaba, Mar 27: Police have successfully cracked a case involving the theft of gold and cash at a house in Golittadi, Ramkunja village, arrested two accused and are on the look-out for three more accused.

The arrested are identified as Sadat Ali from Farangipet (30) and Hamid from Valachhil (31). On the March 11, the iron shutter of the back door of Nebisa's house was broken, the lock removed, and 8 cupboards in the room were searched for cash and gold.

Among these, Nebisa had Rs 1.08 lac in her room's cupboard, along with cash and 13 sovereigns of gold ornaments stolen. This included 2 gold bangles weighing 20 grams, a 24-gram gold necklace chain, a 20-gram gold chain, 12-gram gold rings and a 28-gram gold bracelet, valued at Rs 5.20 lac. A case was registered at the Kadaba police station based on the complaint filed by Nebisa's son, Siddique.

Nebisa, accompanied by her daughter Naseema, son-in-law Naseer, and children, left on March 7 after locking her house, heading to a private hospital in Mangaluru for Naseema's delivery. On the March 11, around 3:30 in the afternoon, when Faisa, a relative of Nebisa, arrived at the house, it was discovered that a theft had occurred.

CCTV footage from the house opposite Nebisa's captured a person arriving in a car around 2:30 in the morning of the March 11, visiting Nebisa's house, and returning shortly afterward.

Uppinangady circle inspector Ravi B S from, along with crime PSI Akshay Dhavgi from Kadaba police station and other personnel, brought accused Sadat Ali Farangipete and Hamid Valachhil for spot inspection on March 25.

It is reported that Hameed informed the other accused about Nebisa's house being locked. Hamid, a resident of Valachhil, originally from Kuntur, got married and his wife stayed at home. Two months ago, Hamid and the other suspects had visited Nebisa's house to cut wood. During this visit, Hamid became familiar with the family and the layout of the house. Upon realizing that all family members had left, Hamid informed his friends from Farangipet and devised a plan for theft. It is alleged that Hamid, along with the other accused, arrived in a car for the theft and stayed in the vehicle.

More than 30 theft cases have been registered against Sadat Ali, the other accused arrested in the case, across different police stations.
