BJP MLC Tejaswini Gowda resigns, rumoured to re-join Congress

Daijiworld Media Network – Bengaluru

Bengaluru, Mar 27: Tejaswini Gowda, a member of the Karnataka BJP Legislative Council, met Speaker Basavaraj Horatti and tendered her resignation on Wednesday, March 27.

Reports suggest that Tejaswini decided to leave the BJP after missing out on the ticket from the Mysuru-Kodagu constituency. Speculations indicate that her resignation from the MLC post is linked to this development. It appears that Tejaswini opted to exit the party due to the ticket being granted to Yaduveer Wadiyar from the Mysuru-Kodagu Lok Sabha constituency. There are indications that she may consider re-joining the Congress.

Tejaswini, initially a journalist, transitioned into politics and served as a Congress MP. Notably, she defeated former Prime Minister HD Deve Gowda from the Kanakapur Lok Sabha (now Bengaluru Rural) constituency in 2004.

Subsequently, she joined the BJP amid shifting political dynamics and dedicated ten years to the party. Her tenure as a member of the Legislative Council was slated to conclude on June 17, 2024.

Congress should think twice to take back powermongers who deserted the party when it needed the support of its cadres. They ran after power and allurements of the party in power. Mr DKS should not turn the congress into a castist party to inflate his support by inviting Vokkaliga community members. Ms Tejaswini is a time server and untrustworthy. Like her remain in the BJP and canvas for congress candidates. She very well knows that Congress can get her reelected as an MLC with its majority.

I wish some day rule comes wherein no politician is allowed to change parties one year prior to the next elections. These politicians dont get tickets and immediately want to change parties. Kumaraswamy has joined hands with BJP in the last two months and what us in store everyone knows. New rules and regulations are urgently required in Indian elections.

Politicians other name is Opportunists. Each of these Politicians are such power hungry people who are useless otherwise. If you ask them for their contribution for the betterment of their constituency it may be zero or negligible. It is time Political parties make a rule for those jumping parties : for at least 02 years of anyone joining a new party or shifting loyalty, no ticket, no big post should be offered. They must start working from grass root level to earn a position in the party, only then jumping parties might stop. There is also this trend now, to save one's skin from CBI/CID or other raids, politicians jump parties to find a safe haven. This is new trend and latest style. Once you join a ruling or powered filled party, all your sins are washed away, your ill gotten wealth is safe. God save our country
