Daijiworld Media Network – Beltangady (MS)

Beltangady, Mar 28: A solitary tusker wreaked havoc on crops early Wednesday morning in Nelligeru of Kuntalapalike, situated within the Bandaru village taluk.

The villagers had earlier heard the unmistakable trumpeting of an elephant on Tuesday evening originating from the Bibimajal area near the Netravati river. By dawn on Wednesday, the same tusker ventured into Monappa Gowda's farm, causing extensive damage to the paddy crop. Furthermore, the tusker also inflicted harm on the agricultural pump and cable belonging to Ramanna's farm.

Upon receiving reports of the incident, forest officials visited the affected farms to assess the extent of the damage.
