Poetica Konkani Kavi Gosti held at Mangalore University

Mangaluru, Mar 28: The Poetica Konkani Kavi Gosti held at Mangalore University Evening College on March 23 was a collaborative effort between the Poetica team and the department of Konkani Masters at Mangalore University Evening College. 

The event commenced with a march by the musical band, followed by poetry recitation from over 25 poets. Dr Madhava M K, the principal in charge, Gilbert D’Souza, the vice-president of Vishwa Konkani Kendra, Colin D’Silva, a Konkani researcher, Dr Steevan D'Souza, an assistant professor at St Aloysius College Beeri, Fr Michael Santumayer, the principal at Milagres College Mangaluru, and Naveen Pereira Suratkal, the coordinator of team Poetica, graced the stage during the inaugural ceremony.

Dr Madhava spoke about the teaching methods of Sanskrit pandits and various forms of poetry, while Dr Steevan D'Souza shed light on the craft of writing poetry. 

Prem Moras and Ishwarya Lakshmi Bhat, lecturers from the department of Konkani, served as moderators for the poetry reading segment. Vandana D’Souza managed the ceremony, and Vidya Baliga, another lecturer, delivered the vote of thanks.
