Brahmavar, April 5:  Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Congress candidate K Jayaprakash Hedgde campaigned in various parts of Kota block on Friday, April 5 for the Lok Sabha elections.

Speaking on this occasion, he said Siddaramaiah-led state government has implemented developmental projects through schemes that benefit all sections of the society. "Guarantee schemes have reached everyone's homes today and are helpful to housewives, youths and students every month. But, the BJP has staged a protest saying that the guarantee schemes have not been implemented and they are putting forward the argument that the state is going bankrupt after its implementation," he said.

He questioned as to whether the country will not go bankrupt when the loans running into crores of rupees taken by various businessmen are waived off.

“I also worked as the fisheries minister and my rival candidate also held the same portfolio. People will decide after comparing both of our works. Anyone can become a minister, but it is important to develop new projects for the fishermen. I have done that during my tenure as a minister, MP and MLA. There is a need for party workers to convey this issue to the voters” he added.

Former Byndoor MLA Gopal Poojary said Jayaprakash Hegde was always available to the people and had succeeded in bringing many projects to the district during his tenure as minister and MP. "He is a seasoned politician and a good parliamentarian," he said while calling upon every worker to try their best to ensure his victory in the next few days.

Jayaprakash Hegde held meetings of workers in Kotathatu, Saligrama town municipality, Kodi, Pandeshwara, Airodi and interacted with senior party leaders and booth level workers.

Congress leader Dinesh Hegde Molahalli, Kota Block Congress president Shankar Kunder, leaders Vinay Kabyadi, Prakash Chandra Shetty Kambadkone, Thimma Poojary, and local Congress leaders & Panchayat members were present.
