Kundapura, April 5: “The current Lok Sabha election will be based on development,” said K Jayaprakash Hegde, Congress candidate for Udupi – Chikkamagaluru Lok Sabha constituency.
He was speaking during the Saligrama rural committee workers meeting held at Kota Block Congress office, Saligrama on Friday, April 5.
“I have come in front of the voters to speak about the development work performed during my term instead of saying that I was the MP, MLA or the minister. I have worked sincerely to solve the issues by shouldering the responsibilities as a minister, MP or MLA. Others obtain votes and win in the names of their leaders and come back towards the voters only after five years. Therefore, be careful while casting your votes,” he said.
“BJP had ridiculed that the guarantee projects of the state government are the peacock feathers kept in the book. But we have delivered as promised. BJP said that they cause losses. Was it not a loss when it waived eleven lac crore loan of businessmen?” he asked.
K Gopala Poojary said that Kota Srinivas Poojary, the agent of Prabhakar Bhat did not work for Billavas and provide social justice when he had the authority. “They named me as the terrorist in Byndoor. I have not done unjust work during my political career of 30 years. I have sold my property and house but did not wander about telling lies that I am poor,” he said.
Kota block Congress president Shanker A Kunder who presided over the meeting reiterated the government guarantees and development work. “Jayaprakash Hegde will win with a huge margin. Party workers should visit houses and inform about the implementation of government guarantees,” he said.
