Kundapur: Cong nominee Geetha Shivarajkumar says she will accord top priority to women's empowerment

Kundapura, Apr 7: Geetha Shivarajkumar, Congress candidate of Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency said, “Byndoor which falls under the Shivamogga Lok Sabha constituency is neglected with regard to development. However, we will not indulge in any step motherly treatment to Byndoor if we win the election. We will respond to the issues of fishermen, women and farmers of Byndoor. Congress which has implemented five guarantees in the state, will give priority to women's empowerment at the Centre also.”

Geetha spoke at the meeting of Congress workers at Nada, Navunda, Aloor.

Sandalwood actor Shivarajkumar said, “Cast your vote after thinking properly. Give opportunity to new people. I guarantee that Geetha will do excellent work if she wins. I have not come here as an actor but as the husband of Geetha. Please vote for her once.”

Former MLA K Gopala Poojary said, “Badakere of Nada, Mowadi, Maraswami bridge are the contribution of Congress government. What is the contribution of current MP of Byndoor? Though Rs 85 crore is released for Maravante port four years ago, he could not get approval from CRZ. Now that work is being done by our fisheries minister.”

Former MLA Sukumar Shetty said, “Daughter of Bangarappa, who worked for the upliftment of least of the person in society is our Lok Sabha candidate today. She will definitely fulfil all your aspirations. Many roads and bridges of Byndoor were built when I was MLA and not by MP Raghavendra.”

Leaders of party G A Bawa, S Raju Poojary, Babu Hegde, Shankara Poojary, Madan Kumar, Aravinda Poojary, Anil Kennedy Pereira, Ramesh Shetty, Susheela Devadiga and D Raju were present.
