Bengaluru, Apr 10: Responding to Congress party’s criticism that his Bidadi farmhouse is the head office of JD(S), former chief minister and JD(S) State President H D Kumaraswamy on Wednesday said the party cannot use KPCC as its head office and also claimed that the Bidadi farm house is like the RSS headquarters of Keshavakrupa in Bengaluru to BJP.
Speaking to media persons in Bengaluru, he questioned the ruling Congress party as to what is wrong if JD(S) uses his Bidadi farm house as is head office.
“I happen to be State JD(S) president. I meet my party leaders in the farm house often. I have 120 workers at the farm house and when my party leaders come for meetings, they are served food. Is it Congress headquarters for objecting meals or food served to JD(S) workers and leaders in my own Bidadi farmhouse?” he questioned.
He pointed out that his Bidadi farm house is like the RSS headquarters of Keshavakrupa to BJP. Kumaraswamy mentioned that alcoholic drinks were not served to JD(S) workers and leaders in the farm house because drinking it Congrfess culture. The Congress party has been constantly throwing booze parties, he accused.
He accused the Congress leaders, who were drunk during the Mekedatu padayatra after eating Biriyani and Kebabs. The JD(S) leader accused the Congress leaders of repeatedly pressurising the local tahsildar about alleged rave parties at the Bidadi farm house. Unfortunately for them (Congress), nothing was found.
“I have faced and conducted several elections. Do you think a person like me does not know what to do and what not to do?” he asked.
Kumaraswamy clarified that he has never misused the religious pontiffs of the Vokkaliga community nor misused power. “People know the antecedents of the persons who are levelling the allegations against me,” he said without naming anybody but indirectly accusing KPCC chief and Deputy Chief Minister D K Shivakumar.
He also claimed that he knows everything as to what the Congress leaders did to pull down his coalition government with Congress party and the happenings at Siddavana in Dharmasthala.
Kumaraswamy, however, saw nothing wrong in JD(S) leaders meeting and seeking the blessings of Adichunchanagiri Math pontiff Sri Nirmalananda Swamiji and explained that the party has been following the same tradition all along during Ugadi festival.
The JD(S) leader said it was Congress leaders, who had met the Adichunchanagiri Mutt and sought to derive political mileage. Kumaraswamy along with B JP leader R Ashoka, who is also a Vokkaliga, met the Adichunchanagiri Math pontiff Sri Nirmalananda Swamiji along with JD(S) core committee G T Deve Gowda and the JD(S)-BJP alliance candidates Yaduveer Chamaraja Krishnadatta Wadiyar, Shobha Karandlaje, Dr C N Manjunath, Tejasvi Surya, P C Mohan, Mallesh Babu, V Somanna, dr K Sudhakar, Dr C N Ashwatha Narayana and State Yuva Morcha president Nikhil Kumaraswamy.
