Puttur: Pangolin Smuggling - Four Arrested

Puttur, Oct 7: The policemen of the local station intercepted a Maruti car on Thursday October 6, and found that an Pangolin was being illegally smuggled in the vehicle. They confiscated the car and the animal and arrested four occupants of the car.

The arrested people are Roshan Pereira, Norbert Prasanna, Jerald Maxim, and Pravin, all from the town.

The arrest was made by probationary deputy superintendent of police, Yashoda Shirgur, who is attached to the town police station here, and her staff, who were patrolling the town. The car, which was moving towards Bolwar, was stopped near Mayura theatre here. Probationary sub-inspector, Honne Gowda and other personnel participated in the operation.

A case was registered against the concerned. More details are yet to be known.
