Udupi: Two Killed in Bike-tempo Collision, Child Injured

Udupi, Oct 8: Two persons who were travelling by a motor bike died after a tempo hit their vehicle on Friday October 7 evening. The incident occurred on national highway 66 near Nittoor Hanumantanagar School near here. Reportedly, the accident happened as the tempo suddenly entered the highway from a side road without warning.

Nagaraj (27) and Yatish (28), residents of Kundapur Kody, were the unlucky duo. A 30-month-old child named Srujan too was travelling with them. Srujan, who suffered injuries to both his legs, was admitted into a hospital in Mangalore for treatment.

It is learnt that Nagaraj had visited the house of his elder sister at Mukka, and was returning to his village with his nephew, Srujan. Nagaraj lost his life on the spot, whereas Yatish breathed his last at a hospital in the town later.
