Mangaluru, Apr 15: The Ward Day of St Anna Ward of St Teresa Church, Mangaluru, was celebrated with great pomp on Sunday, April 15 at the Monteiro Grounds in the ward.

The chief priest of the church, Fr Alban D'Souza, presided over the event and commended the talents within the ward. Parish Council vice president Elias Fernandes elucidated the significance of the Ward Day celebration. Bhaskar K, the local corporator, graced the occasion as the guest of honor and conveyed his best wishes. Jocelyn Lobo, coordinator of the 21 Commission of the church, was also present.

Austin Monteiro, Parish Council secretary and the head of the ward, extended a warm welcome to all attendees. Ward representative Patsy Monteiro presented the report, while Alwyn Monteiro, another representative, proposed vote of thanks.

Irene D'Mello and Elias Monteiro, former ward chiefs, were honored on behalf of the ward for their service.

A variety of entertainment programs catered to all age groups, from small children to seniors. Senior members of the ward were recognized with prizes for their contributions. Elina D'Mello, the youngest member, captivated the audience with her musical performance, earning applause. Daphne Monteiro, a ward member, moderated the programme.
