Kaup, Oct 9: A 21-year-old boy Vinay Shettigar met watery grave while he had gone swimming in a pond along with his friends to Sukrala, near Shirva here on Saturday October 8.

Vinay is a final year BBM student of St Mary College, Shirva and is a son of Udaya Shankar and Vasanthi, currently residing in Hubli. He was residing in his uncle’s home here and was pursuing his education.

Though Vinay’s friends who knew swimming immediately jumped into the water to save him, they failed in their attempt as he had already breathed his last.
