Karkala, Apr 20: "In Karkala, all indications of the BJP's deceitful politics are fading away. Thanks to the guarantee schemes of the Congress government, we are confident of securing a lead in Karkala. The victory of the capable MP candidate Jayaprakash Hegde is assured," stated KPCC spokesperson Sudhir Kumar Murolli during a large public gathering held at Hebri bus stand on Friday in support of Congress candidate Jayaprakash Hegde's campaign.
Karkala Congress leader Muniyalu Udaya Shetty said, "During the last elections, the people of Karkala extended excellent support to the Congress party. However, due to the false propaganda spread by the BJP, we narrowly lost. Now, the public has become aware of the lies propagated by BJP leaders.
"Today's procession has clearly conveyed the message. There is no doubt that our capable leader Jayaprakash Hegde will win by a significant margin. The guarantees implemented by the Congress government have earned the trust and support of the people. It is imperative for party workers to continue spreading awareness about this among the general public," he stated.
Jayaprakash Hegde said, "The overwhelming support from the public gives me confidence that they will vote based on the development work I have accomplished. I am not concerned about the false propaganda spread by the BJP. The people will respond appropriately to them through their votes."
Vinay Kumar Sorake, president of the KPCC state campaigning committee, stated, "The Congress party has fulfilled all the guarantees promised during the last assembly elections. Therefore, it has become the party that guarantees welfare for the poor."
More than 500 vehicles participated in the procession, which commenced from Karkala Bypass and proceeded to Hebri. The procession was inaugurated by candidate Jayaprakash Hegde, and slogans of ‘MP Namma JP’ echoed from Karkala to Hebri. Thousands of Congress leaders from Hebri and Karkala joined the rally in support.
Hebri block Congress president Chandrashekhar Bayari presided over the function. Former minister Abhayachandra Jain, eminent leaders Neere Krishna Shetty, Kishan Hegde Kolkebailu, Surendra Shetty, Sadashiva Devadiga, Shekhar Madiwala, Dinesh Shetty, Deepa Bhandary and Ranjani Hebbar were present.
