Puttur: Boy, upset over bicycle repair delay, takes his own life

Daijiworld Media Network – Puttur (MS)

Puttur, Apr 21: Tragedy struck Karaya village near Uppinangady as 13-year-old Nandan, a resident of Shivagiri Dugaladi Mane, took his own life by hanging himself from a window in his house on Friday evening.

Nandan, the son of Late Rohit Gowda from Panja, had been living with his uncle's family in Dugaladi following his father's passing. On the day of the incident, Nandan had been playing with four friends when he requested his family to have his bicycle repaired.

Despite assurances that it would be taken care of the following day due to a technician being present to repair a faulty inverter, Nandan's distress over not being able to ride his bicycle led him to take the drastic step of hanging himself from a window inside the house.

The Puttur police have registered a case in connection with the incident.

Parents are too scary these days to speak to their kids, as any wrong statement made will lead to distress, which is not even expected out of. Feel sad to the parents in such dire situations.
