Bengaluru, Apr 21: Bengaluru city police commissioner B Dayananda has ordered the suspension of inspector Jyothirlinga Honakatti of Bengaluru CCB unit on charges of money deals with the rowdies.

A few days ago, when Marathahalli rowdy Rohit was interrogated in the wake of the upcoming Lok Sabha elections, the khaki connection was revealed. CCB DCP, who conducted a departmental level inquiry, recommended disciplinary action against Inspector Jyothirlinga Honakatty of CCB OCW.

Jyorthirlinga was working in the eastern wing of CCB's OCW division. Many cases including murder and threat to life have been registered against Marathahalli rowdy Rohit. Recently, the police have kept a close watch on the rioters and their activities in the city due to the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. Also, the houses of the rowdies were raided and searched. But Rohit was not found.

DCP of CCB Srinivasa Gowda had instructed the officials to call Rohit and interrogate him. Accordingly, he was called to the CCB office in Chamarajpet here and questioned by the officials. When the rowdy's mobile was seized and checked, it came to light that he had a close relationship with inspector Jyothirlinga. It is known that Rowdy Rohit had given money to PI Jyothirlinga many times and based on the report of DCP, Bengaluru Commissioner has ordered suspension.

Jyotirlinga was earlier an inspector at Barke station in Mangaluru. Even then he was accused of illegally taking money from many places including bars and pubs.
