Mangaluru, Apr 23: Yodeling King Melwyn Peris and director Joel Pereira's film, titled 'POYONN,' announced on February 11, has commenced shooting on Friday, April 19. Produced by Neeta Peris' ‘SangeethGhar Productions,’ the film showcases the directorial prowess of Sangeeth Guru Joel Pereira, whose musical journey spans over 45 years and includes music arrangements for more than 200 entertainment programmes and countless music albums across India and abroad. Joel Pereira also takes credit for the screenplay and story writing. The film's lyrics and tunes are by Melwyn Peris and Roshan D'Souza, Anjelore composing the music.

The event, organized by SangeethGhar Productions, commenced with a prayer by Fr Clifford Fernandes, parish priest of Cordel Church.

Corrine Rasquinha, founder of White Doves, received a resounding applause as she gave the clap. In her brief address, she praised Melwyn Peris for his immense contribution to Konkani music, including his work in devotional music. She expressed her anticipation for 'POYONN,' stating that the film, depicting the journey of a singer by a maestro singer and a maestro musician, will make history in Konkani cinema.

The star-studded cast includes Brian Sequeira, Dr Jasmin D'Souza, and Kate Pereira in lead roles, along with Shaina D'Souza, Rynel Sequeira, Leslie Rego, Jerry Rasquinha, Walter Nandalike, Albert Peris, Jeevan Vas, Melisha Pinto and Jossie Rego, among others.

The technical crew boasts V Ramanjaneya as the director of photography, Mevil Joel Pinto handling editing and co-direction, Ivan Pereira as associate camera, and Arun Noronha as production executive. Vincy Rodrigues serves as the executive producer, Avil D'Cruz handles choreography, Prajwal Suvarna takes care of DI, and pro-pix handles design. Pinto Vamanjoor is in charge of the office, Arun-Rose arrangers handle art direction, and Flan Caterers provide hospitality. Rahul Advertisers manage publicity, Sohan D'Sa handles social media, and Daijiworld serves as the media partner.
