Moodbidri : Henry Serrao (35) Dies on Day of Housewarming

Daijiworld Media Network – Mangalore (PS)

Moodbidri/ Mangalore, Oct 11: A man who was returning to Moodbidri after buying grocery and other items for his housewarming ceremony met with an accident and died on the spot on Monday October 10.

Henry Serrao (35), son of John Serao, a resident of Hosabettu is the deceased.

Henry's wife stays abroad. The housewarming ceremony of his newly-built house in Masti Katte near here was scheduled to take place on Monday. When he reached near the government hospital here, his Activa was hit by a tipper plying from the opposite direction.

The tipper has been seized and its driver Shantharaj rounded up by the police.

There are allegations that there has been an increase in the number of tippers plying on this route in the locality. Tippers are overloaded and the local tahashildar also had warned their drivers. Despite this, many tipper drivers continue to load their vehicles with excess crushed stones, which in turn affects the quality of roads. Locals have sought immediate action on this discrepancy.

Really a very sad news, severe punishment should be given to the driver's when they meet with accident. Let it be any Vehicle from two wheller's to 18 wheeler's the Driver at fault should be harshly punished and licence to be suspended for 6 months, then only the driver's will be a little more carefull. Here due to a careless driver a family has lost a bread earner. May his Soul rest in peace and may the Almighty give strength to the family to bear the loss.

See this is the kind of fate one should not face in their life. Like any other human being Late Mr. Henry must have spend his entire life to accumulate hard earned money for his dream house. But fate had something else for him. Let us all together pray with Lord Jesus/Allah/Iswar to give him another lease of life in his own family to take rebirth and fill the gap widen by Henry’s death

Sad news. (1) We have drivers who get their DL by bribing the brokers / RTO. (2) Lack of basic education (3) Alcohol related and in this case " Tippers are overloaded and the local tahashildar also had warned their drivers. Despite this, many tipper drivers continue to load their vehicles with excess crushed stones, which in turn affects the quality of roads.:\" No Sir - quality of roads / design and traffic planning is pathetic - AN OVERLOADED VEHICLE IS UNSAFE SIMPLY BECAUSE THE DRIVER CANNOT CONTROL IT - Ride a 2 wheeler with one pillion and drive the same vehicle with 3 or 4 persons - then find the difference.
