Karnataka Sangha Dubai honours visionaries behind noble causes

Media Release

Dubai, Apr 30: Karnataka Sangha Dubai, the pioneering Karnataka Association established in 1985, has been dedicatedly serving NRI Kannadigas in Dubai for 39 years, fostering Karnataka's arts, commerce, and culture.

On April 27, Karnataka Sangha Dubai felicitated Joseph Crasta, a proud Kannadiga dedicated to empowering the helpless and vulnerable through the establishment of Snehalaya, and Sharat Siri, a biker advocating SAY NO TO DRUGS during their visit to Dubai.

Joseph Crasta, supported by Ronald Martis, KSD patron coordinating his UAE visit, aims to garner assistance for Snehalaya to realize his vision of empowering the helpless across India, a cause that garners immense pride and support.

Snehalaya serves as a refuge for rag pickers, beggars, and homeless elders who suffer from mental distress and often end up in different states, scavenging for food. Upon rehabilitation at Snehalaya, efforts are made to trace their hometown addresses and facilitate reunions with their families.

The felicitation ceremony, organized by Karnataka Sangha Dubai at Karama Hotel by Fortune in Al Karama, Dubai, was a heartwarming event.

Karnataka Sangha Dubai extended warm wishes to both individuals for a successful visit and congratulates Joseph Crasta on his record attempt to rehabilitate 1350 individuals at Snehalaya, offering them a new lease on life.

While KSD president Shahsidhar Nagarajappa conveyed his wishes over the phone during his private trip to India, vice president Daya Kirodian briefed about KSD and wished success to Joseph Crasta. Secretary Manohar Hegde commended the efforts of biker Sharat, while joint secretary Mallikarjuna Gowda introduced the guests and treasurer Nagaraj Rao extended the vote of thanks on behalf of KSD. Ronald Martis, KSD patron, also wished both guests success in their social endeavors.

The Karnataka Sangha Dubai team made a financial contribution and expressed support to Snehalaya. Patron Ronald Martis called for community support towards Snehalaya's humanitarian efforts.
