Udupi: Two youths rescued from drowning at Malpe beach

Udupi, May 8: In a tragic turn of events at Malpe Beach on Wednesday May 8, a serene outing for a group of six youths from Kottur taluk, Balari district, turned tragic.

Thanks to the swift and courageous actions of beach lifeguards, Gopinath (25) and Ranganatha (26), were successfully rescued.

According to eyewitness accounts, the group was indulging in a morning swim on the north side of the beach, specifically the Thottam area. Two of the boys succumbed to the force of the ocean as a massive wave engulfed them.

Authorities have been urging beachgoers to exercise extreme caution and heed all warnings when venturing into the waters, especially during times of heightened risk.
