Mangaluru, May 8: Inauguration of Student Project Exhibition – 2024 of Srinivas Institute of Technology, held on May 8. Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, chancellor, Srinivas University and president of A Shama Rao Foundation presided over the inaugural function. Gana Bhat, actor, model, engineer and founder of EDI, e-commerce, was the chief guest. A Mitra S Rao, secretary of Srinivas Group of colleges Mangaluru was the guest of honour. The dais was shared by Shrinivasa Mayya D, principal, Srinivas Institute of Technology and Prof Jayaram Thumbe convener of the project exhibition.
The chief guest Gana Bhat addressed the students with her motivational talk, mentioned students that, projects are opportunities to explore what they learned and the challenges involved in student's projects. She also said, learn new things from failure and different thinks will bring the innovative ideas. Dr CA A Raghavendra Rao, in his presidential speech, mentioned the importance of hard work, different thinking and satisfaction to bring innovative projects. A Mitra S Rao, mentioned about requirement of exhibition of skills and encouragement to complete the projects. Also, she encouraged the students to develop the projects into useful products for public.
Prof Jayaram Thumbe, the convener of the project exhibition briefed about the project exhibition 2023-24. The total of 73 projects in all departments will be on display, which includes 7 are sponsored by Karnataka State Council for Science & Technology (KSCST) Bengaluru. All the projects will be judged by internal and external experts. The best projects will be awarded with cash prizes.
The inaugural function was started with prayer by Deeksha Sharma and Chaitra M, from computer science department. Prof Jayaram Thumbe the convener of the project exhibition welcomes the gathering. The chief guest was introduced by Prof Sahana, from marine department. Prof Rakesh Sharma, from computer science department, delivered the vote of thanks. Prof Vivek Vijay Kumar from department of marine engineering was the master of ceremony.
