Mangaluru: Five-day Mango, Jackfruit Mela inaugurated at Kadri Park

Mangaluru, May 9: Dr Anand K, CEO of the Zilla Panchayat, inaugurated the five-day-long Mango and Jackfruit Mela at Kadri Park on Thursday, May 9.

The Mango and Jackfruit Mela will continue until May 13.

The event is jointly organized by the district administration, Zilla Panchayat, and the Horticulture Department. Over 20 vendors will be selling various types of mangoes and jackfruits, along with their products.

The mela will be open from 9 am to 9 pm. Mango varieties such as Chitte Badami, Sugar Baby, Kalapadi, Rathnagiri Alphonso, Raspuri, Dashehari, Hima Pasand, Mitai Gola, Mallika, Sindhura, Thothapuri, and Malgova will be available.

Additionally, products made from jackfruit and mangoes, such as papads, chips, pickles, and others, will also be on sale.

    There were enough mangoes; rates were high; the vendors would charge even for 20 extra grams! ;so avaricious and misery. There were no Jackfruits except on the hoardings. The district administration and Horticulture Department should not mislead the general public by floating misleading advertisements.
