Bantwal: Gram Panchayat VP Stabbed After Clashes Erupt over Poster

Bantwal, Oct 14: Tense atmosphere prevailed in the taluk here on Friday October 14 after vice-president of Baltila gram panchayat Annu Poojary was stabbed following a clash between two groups.

The incident occured at Soorikumer on Friday evening.

Sources said that two groups clashed over a poster calling for the release of PDP leader Madani, who is in Bangalore Central Jail currently as an under trial prisoner.

Poojary was rushed to a hospital in Mangalore. Another person, Shafi, was also injured in the incident, and two others have been hospitalized.

Vittal police arrived at the spot and brought the situation under control. A case has been registered.

    Govt have take action againt poster and banner.
    for example see our mangalore main signal area looks very ugly.
    because lack action from mcp.
    mcp always sleepy. they have put fine for poster and banner with permission from mcp.
    mcp have to give time for to remove all the banner and poster.
    then only we can clean our city.
