Udupi, Oct 15:  The district unit of Indian Federation of Karnataka Christian Associations (IFKCA) presented a memorandum to Governor Hansaraj Bharadwaj asking him to act against communal outfits that attack churches and prayer centers in the state in connivance with the police and government officials.

IFKCA alleged that communal outfits are targeting churches, prayer centers, and pastors in an attempt to impose Hinduism in the state.

Complainants are threatened by the police and forced to shut down prayer centers with issuance of notices to religious authorities. Religious freedom that is assured by the Indian Constitution does not reign in the state.

IFKCA alleged that the law and order situation is worsening. IFKCA urged Governor Bharadwaj to take action against the communal forces supported by police who had attacked Christian women including children and pastors at Sakleshpur and Kadoor, recently.

IFKCA president Prashant Jattanna, district president Charles Amblar, secretary Peter Danti, state secretary Michael Baptist, advisor Ritesh Johnson, Mangalore division vice-president Sunil Mangalore, Hassan district president Leo Prakash, Sunil D’Souza, and Gladson Karkada were present on the occasion.
