Mangalore, Oct 15: Jeevan Jyothi Camp - 2011 was held for 10th standard students of south deanery at Permannur Church here on Sunday October 9.

"You are at a point of making choice; choice between good and bad. Inorder to reach your goal you need to make a right choice in your life and this Jeevan Jyothi Camp will be a guide for you”, said Dr Pius James D’Souza, OCD, in his message for the students.

The highlights of the camp were prayer, liturgy, personality development, stress management, health and hygine, communication and mass media and career guidance. Games and cultural activities were also conducted.

The closing ceremony was held on Thursday October 13 which was presided by Fr Richard Saldanha, parish priest of Ranipura parish, Fr Gregory, vicar vara, Dr Lavina Noronha, directors of Ave Maria Palliative care, Vamanjoor.

On this occasion, Royston Pinto of Nithyadar Parish who secured gold medal in Special Olympics held at Greece 2011 was also honoured.

The camp was co-ordinated by Fr Nelson Pinto, OCD, supported by Fr Gregory Vicar, assisted by all the parish priests, assistant parish priests, religious nuns, OCD Deacons from carmel Hill along with the ICYM unit and the parishioners of Permannur Church.
