Damascus, Oct 16 (IANS): Only negotiations, not the use of force, can end unrest in Syria, an opposition group has said.
The Popular Front for Change and Liberation in Syria, however, came out against foreign intervention in Syrian affairs, saying a serious dialogue is the sole way of ending the months-long crisis, Xinhua reported.
Its leader Qadri Jamil told a press conference Saturday that the situation in Syria, if it drags on, would eventually threaten the world peace.
Only a serious national dialogue would bring Syria out of the current crisis, he said.
Jamil denied his front had contacts with the US ambassador Robert Ford, saying that "contacting the enemy is a national betrayal".
