Mumbai: Anna Hazare's 'Nephew' Cheats Woman of Rs 33 Lac!

Mumbai, Oct 16: Sometimes, it pays to share your name with a famous person. At least that's what this self-styled 'nephew' of social activist Anna Hazare thought, until he got caught for conning a woman of Rs 33 lac!

In a nutshell, while Anna Hazare has been crusading against corruption, another Hazare was caught forging documents to make some moolah.

According to a complaint, Navin Kumar Hazare, 50,  claimed to be the director of a Wadala-based financial consultancy company, and approached complainant Levinisia D'Souza and offered to manage the finances of her company.

Lately, Levinisia found to her utter shock that Hazare had forged her signature on stamp papers while filing income tax returns, apart from withdrawing Rs 33 lac in 13 cheques between October 2005 and March 2011.

What suprised her even more was his defence when confronted and asked to explain - he reportedly threatened her and claimed to be Anna Hazare's nephew, and therefore, not a person to be messed with!

Not to be bogged down, Levinisia decided to file a complaint against him, and the Antop Hill police arrested Hazare and charged him under sections 406, 463, 467,468 471,420 of the Indian Penal Code.

This was not the first time for Hazare. Police sources said that he and his accomplice Madhavi Pritre have been duping students, all in the name of Anna Hazare, claiming to arrange loans for them for admission in posh colleges!

Wonder what Anna Hazare would say to this.

    No doubt Anna seems to be honest man.Pasina ki kamayi is respectable .Somebody may be disgracing Anna.But it is open fact within Anna team crossing the limit like Anna is above parliament etc.Anyway what connection with Anna if so called nephew indulging in cheating business?there are many cases son cheating his father vice versa!This is our progressive society!?

    Looks like some readers in the forum do not have sense of news ! The news item clearl state word Nephew in inverted coma ' ' which explains, some one is taking the advantage of anna hazare..and it is not actual anna hazare's nephew. Comeon guys, atleast have the sense of news before fighting each other.

Star TV is run by an Australian, named Rupert Murdoch who visited India few years ago. Rupert Murdoch born in Australia in 1931, and since 1985 is a US citizen. He is 117th wealthiest person in the world in March 2011.

    THere are so many people shooting by keeping the gun on Anna Hazare's shoulder.

    Anna cannot be blamed for this con man, even if he is directly related to him. Anna has nothing to do with this.

    Cheating is there in all our walking life.Now here it collides with the name of Anna Hazare.I think the media got an breaking news because of the name.There is police,there is law,We have the system, it will take care of the said situation.Making more hype in this story not give any strength itself.

    Does anyone know the reason for 'vow of silence' by Hazare? I dont think it is because of Hazari as that came in later. Is it because he himself is not sure of what he is doing? Run out of reasons?

    The authenticity of the news item according me counter checked by media who brought news to public.It is premature in this juncture to give any comment on the issue.If the news is authentic then Anna Hazare nothing to do anything on it.The integrity of the Anna could not be gauged by this particular incident.

    Anna Hazare is the machine created by Criminal Modi and his group, so i prefer not he is a noble person, if he is a noble person he never ever supported any political parties, but he did that and took anger from many Indians who is against to Modi n his group. All are corrupt even ANNA HAZARE too, now this is just an sample of his side, wait n see more news will come to flash about him and his family.

    So how many Hazares do we have? Hazare Hazari ra ri ro ru rw ry. May be a hazaar of them. If all of them (except Hazari of course) go on fasting along with Modi we will probably not have any more food shortage.

    Well, this was telecasted yesterday in all the national Hindi and English news channels. It was clearly mentioned that Mr. Navin Kumar Hazare is not related to Shri Anna Hazare. Infact, Mr. Navin Kumar Hazare's real sur name is "Hazari" and not "Hazare".
