Mangaluru, May 20: The health department of Dakshina Kannada (DK) district has decided to increase vigilance as cases of West Nile fever have been reported in Malappuram, Kozhikode, and Thrissur areas of Kerala state.

Special instructions have been given to all medical colleges in the district regarding this matter. If any patients arrive with symptoms of West Nile fever, the concerned institutions are asked to report them to the administration and health department officials. Although no cases of West Nile fever have been reported in DK so far, borders are being monitored.

Dr H R Timmaiah, the district health officer, stated that the health department has decided to provide training on this fever from May 20 to personnel within the department.

West Nile fever is transmitted through mosquitoes. Symptoms include fever, headache, tiredness, body aches, vomiting sensation, unconsciousness, skin swelling, shivering, and neck stiffness.

Kerala is the first place to erupt every sickness. Few weeks ago bird flu. Corona, dengue, chikungunya, tomato fever, monkey fever, cow fever, bat fever, h1 n1, handi fever, arali flower death, suspicious fevers and now this west nile. Why is it so? Its gods own country. People all help each other. Living a saintly life. Is it because govt doesnt believe in religion and god?
