Bangalore: Veteran Congress Leader Ranganath Passes Away


Bangalore, Oct 18 (IANS): Former Karnataka minister and veteran Congress leader K.H. Ranganath died here Tuesday after a brief illness, family members said. He was 86.

Ranganath, who died at a private hospital, was a member of the ministries headed by D. Devaraj Urs, S. Bangarappa and S.M. Krishna, now external affairs minister.

He was member of the state assembly for six terms from Hiriyur in Chitradurga district, about 200 km from here. He was elected to the Lok Sabha from Chitradurga for one term in 1984.

Ranganath is survived by two sons and four daughters.
