Mangalore, Oct 19: The district BJP leaders, as part of a state wide protest against the central government’s 'step-motherly treatment' in distributing electricity to the state, organized a protest in front of the DC’s office here on Tuesday October 18.

Shreekar Prabhu, president, BJP, Mangalore City, addressing the gathering, said that the anticipated co-operation of the central government in solving the electricity shortage problem had not panned out. Since a month, the problem of power cuts is occurring state wide and the Telangana row also has contributed to the shortage of supply in coal. The state opposition leaders instead of demanding it rightfully, have been engaged in ‘hatred politics’, he lamented.

District BJP president Padmanabh Kottari, MP Nalin Kumar Kateel, leaders Prathap Sinha Nayak, Nithin Kumar, Franklin Montero, and Sumana Sharan were part of the programme
