Mangaluru: St Theresa’s School conducted a workshop on ‘First Aid and Emergency Response'

Mangaluru, May 29: A team of doctors headed by Dr Hilda conducted a First Aid and Emergency Response workshop for the staff of St Theresa’s School. The school principal Sr Lourdes was present for the session. After a formal welcome, the session began with the doctors showing all the presentations by means of videos and pictures to make learning more effective.

Emergency response in situations of electric shock, burns, drowning, choking and CPR techniques were discussed in detail by Dr Hezil Saldanha. This was followed by first aid response like fall from heights, cuts, bites from insects etc., too by Dr Jason D’Souza. Mannequin demonstration for CPR and choking adults and infants was shown. Also all the staff got an opportunity to try the techniques by themselves. Dr Elton and Dr Prakruthi assisted the teachers during this practical session. The session was very useful and the teachers clarified all the basic doubts about first aid.
