Very sad Heartfelt sympathy to the family. One shouldnt blame always driver without knowing facts.Of course some drivers are rampant in driving ,but same to some pedastrians too.Cross where it is not allowed .try to cross simply to go opposite side.More zibra streifen are needed for the sake of pedastrians.

Many here are commenting about the driving without knowing the facts of the case. Can't it be the pedestrians fault?

Now its the habit of the people to walk on the Road, & they think its the duty of the vehicle driver to see and avoid them and drive, even if there a good footpath people dont want to use. its a common practice. best is there should not be any case for drivers if this is proved, pedestrian walking on Road which is meant for the vehicle .

Every evening there's traffic bottleneck at Kalsanka Junction and Indrali Bridge. It takes almost ten minutes to cross each. This bus operating at the same time was probably stuck there and was making up for lost time. There's no underpass or overbridge for pedestrians. People should also realise they cannot outrun a speeding bus. Please be patient and cross the road only when it is clear.

The traffic situation in Udupi has deteriorated significantly due to widespread ignorance of traffic rules among both drivers and pedestrians, coupled with a lax attitude from the traffic enforcement authorities. One of the most dangerous and common infractions is drivers going against the designated flow of traffic. This not only endangers their own lives but also poses a significant risk to other road users, including pedestrians. Many pedestrians are unaware of basic traffic rules, such as using crosswalks, waiting for traffic signals, and avoiding jaywalking. The traffic police are often seen as indifferent or lenient towards these violations. Requesting everyone to take pictures of traffic violations, especially those driving in the wrong direction. These pictures should be shared on social media platforms with appropriate hashtags to draw attention to the issue. .

Sad indeed. May he rest in eternal peace. City bus drivers in M'lore and Udupi have started to consider themselves greater than pilots and fly the buses in the air.
