Udupi: Thieves break bar shutter, decamp with Rs 1.20 lac from cash drawer

Udupi, May 30: Thieves broke into a bar at Ambagilu on the night of May 29 and made off with cash from the drawer.

Vasanth, the bar's cashier, had locked up the establishment around 11:50 pm before heading home for the night. The following morning, Anand, a cook at the bar, arrived to find the shutter open. He promptly notified Vasanth of the situation.

The thieves had broken the lock, raised the shutter, and made away with Rs 1.20 lakh in cash from the drawer.

A case has been filed in connection with the incident, and police are reviewing CCTV footage to apprehend the culprits.

    Thefts are increasing in Manipal and surrounding areas, Mostly its outside theives are involved in this crimes I feel police must intensify patroling in the night time to prevent thefts Strict action by police personale is needed in Manipal and Udupi area
