Belgaum: Diamond, Gold Worth Rs 8 Crore Seized at Airport


Belgaum, Oct 21 (PTI): Diamond and gold jewellery and unaccounted cash worth a combined sum of about Rs 8 crore were seized at the Sambra airport here from three Mumbai-bound passengers, police said today.

The passengers, who were detained yesterday as they could not tender valid documents for the jewellery and cash, are being questioned, police said in a statement.

The passengers had 2.39 kgs of diamond jewellery, 23.46 kg of gold jewellery and Rs 25.62 lakh in unnaccounted cash, police said.

    Wow great news,what a treasure we have in small town also,our country has rich enough compare to the asian countries and i hope we are playing crying drama about inflation! becoz recently i read news that,carrying uncounted money in trucks in mumbai,same thing in bangalore,hyderabad,rajastan.etc.
