Udupi traffic police hold meeting with city, service bus owners

Udupi, Jun 5: A meeting of Udupi city and service bus owners was held with Udupi traffic police  at Udupi police station on June 3, Monday.

The meeting released a few guidelines that are mandatorily to be followed. Loud horns that are installed in buses have been asked to be removed by June 15 and the tape recorders and speakers inside the bus must be removed.

During the meeting, the owners were informed that all buses must mandatorily have CCTV cameras inside. Buses should be operated according to the scheduled time and on time. No passengers can be picked on the way. Drivers must go to the bus stop on the way at Karavali Junction for smooth public and vehicular movement. 

 

The meeting came up with a decision of mandatory uniforms for drivers and conductors while on duty. Drivers were instructed in the meeting not to drive the bus at excessive speeds, not to use mobile phones while driving the bus and not to drink and drive.

All these guidelines are mandated to be followed during the meeting and it was firm that appropriate legal action will be taken if not followed, during the meeting.

    WILL it work daily I see a fight at Manipal bus stand of this bus drivers & conductors of this private buses with their competitors sufferers passengers.Mobile usage is common in every bus I can daily give the pictures of this drivers.
