Byndoor, Jun 7: The Namo Balaga in Byndoor has submitted a request to the Byndoor tahsildar and police, urging them to take appropriate action against the ongoing cow thefts and threats to life by miscreants in various areas, including Shirur in the Byndoor taluk.
In the early hours of the morning, around 4 AM, miscreants stole cows that were sleeping in an open area in front of Manjunath Hotel in Shirur town using a Mahindra SUV. When confronted, the miscreants threatened the individual with a knife. Additionally, a similar incident was reported a week ago near the Shirur Market underpass, where cows were stolen using a vehicle, Namo Balaga members have complained.
For some time now, there have been reports of cattle theft from household sheds in areas like Shirur, Byndoor, Yedthare, Baada, and Soorkund, causing distress to families who rely on agriculture and dairy farming for their livelihood. There have also been instances where miscreants have threatened those attempting to prevent these thefts, they added.
Highlighting these incidents, the Namo Balaga has urged the Byndoor police and Ttahsildar to take prompt action against the culprits and ensure justice for the affected families.
