Mangalore: MRPL Blast – EIL Manager Arrested

Mangalore, Oct 22: In connection with the blast that occurred at the site of the third phase of Mangalore Refinery and Petrochemicals Ltd (MRPL) here on Tuesday which accounted for a life and resulted in injuries for two persons, the policemen of Suratkal station have arrested Sudhir Nayak, regional manager of Engineers India Ltd. Engineers India is the principal contractor of the project, is gathered.

It may be recalled that Munna Kumar, a labourer of Bihar origin, had died during the blast that occurred during the construction of the crude oil tank for MRPL third stage.  Abdul Rahim and Pappu Yadav, who were injured in the accident, are recovering in hospital. Already, two persons named Qasim Kutti and Riaz, regional manager and security manager of Offshore Company to which the work was sub-contracted, have been arrested in this connection.
