Dubai, Jun 9: Legend World Rent A Car earned top honors at the 13th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST) organized by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).
Securing first place in the Environmental Protection category, the company's commitment to sustainable and green energy solutions marks a significant milestone in its sustainability journey.
The prestigious award ceremony took place on June 6, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, with His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council, presenting the awards. The event aimed to inspire government bodies, private businesses, and academic institutions to adopt sustainable and environmentally friendly practices.
Among the key figures present were Kai Zheng, Founder and Chairman of Legend Holding Group; Chenna Reddy, Managing Director of Legend World Investments L.L.C.; Deepak Paladka, National Sales Manager; Venktesh Pandit, Head of Regional Operations; Mubasher Farooq, Finance Manager; Meeramohideen Shafi, Head of Service; and Mahmoud Mabrouk, Government Relations Manager.
Legend World Rent A Car's recognition underscores its innovative sustainability initiatives, including expanding the availability of electric vehicles and installing charging stations, contributing significantly to environmental preservation. These efforts align with Dubai’s Green Mobility Strategy 2030 and Clean Energy Strategy 2050, focusing on environmental, social, and economic aspects.
The Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aims to recognize organizations implementing successful sustainable projects. It emphasizes reducing environmental impact, enhancing mobility management, improving transportation safety, and integrating various modes of public transport.
The award also acknowledges exceptional contributions in categories such as Best Student Project/Research, Best Academic Research/Project, Best Consultant, Best Contractor, and Best Partner in the Field of Sustainability. Since its inception in 2008, the award has attracted active participation from government bodies, private businesses, and academic institutions, fostering sustainable development in transportation.
