Mangaluru: Ryan International School Celebrates World Environment Day

Mumbai, Jun 9: World Environment Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at Ryan International School, Kulai, Mangaluru, in collaboration with the Rotary Club Mangaluru. The event aimed to raise awareness about environmental conservation and the importance of sustainable practices.

 

 

Led by the vision of our chairman, Dr A F Pinto of “Each One Plant One”, the school organized a special assembly on World Environment Day where guests from the Rotary Club Mangalore were invited to participate. Students from Grade 2 presented a captivating dance performance, conveying the message of the significance of environmental preservation. The theme for this year's World Environment Day, "Our land. Our future. We are #Generation Restoration," was emphasized throughout the event, highlighting the importance of land restoration, desertification, and drought resilience.

Chief guest Sudhakar Salian, along with other members of the Rotary Club, joined the students in planting fruit-bearing saplings within the school premises. The planting ceremony symbolized the collective effort towards restoring and nurturing our environment. The School choir performed a plantation song, further emphasizing the importance of environmental stewardship.

During his address, Sudhakar Salian enlightened the students about the significance of maintaining a clean and green environment for the well-being of present and future generations. The students actively engaged in the event and pledged to uphold the values of environmental conservation. The celebration of World Environment Day with the Rotary Club Mangaluru served as a platform to inspire students to take proactive steps towards preserving and protecting our planet for a sustainable future.
