Puttur: Day-long skill enhancement programme on LaTeX held at St Philomena College

Puttur, Jun 10: The department of mathematics at St Philomena College, Puttur, organized a day-long skill enhancement programme titled ‘LaTeX Essentials: A Comprehensive Approach for Academic Excellence’ for the mathematics students of the college.

The event was graced by president of the programme Dr Antony Prakash Monteiro, principal of the college, who also inaugurated the programme. Prof Ganesh Bhat, retired vice principal, in his chief guest address said, “Participants can find the hands-on sessions and Q&A invaluable, gaining essential skills for professionally formatted documents. This programme significantly enhances students’ academic capabilities, providing them with vital tools for their scholarly pursuits.”

Dr Vijaya Kumar Moleyar, vice principal of the college was the guest of honour.

Pratheek Rai N, assistant professor in the PG department of mathematics at St Philomena College, served as the resource person for the event. He provided a thorough introduction to LaTeX, emphasizing document structure, formatting, and advanced features. His expertise and engaging teaching style helped to clarify the complexities of LaTeX, making it accessible to all participants.

Archana A L and Sushma M B rendered prayer. Pratheeksha welcomed. Rakshitha K Shetty compered the programme. The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Clion Franstin Miranda.
