Mangaluru, Jun 20: On June 20, Carmel School hosted a grand investiture ceremony, marking a significant milestone for its newly elected cabinet members.
The ceremony commenced with a distinguished march of the cabinet ministers alongside Prof Mathew Ninan, honorary director of Little Rock School, Brahmavar, Sr Lilly Pushpa, the principal, Dr Sr Prem D'Souza, the administrator and Sr Premal, the vice-principal. The school band played symphonically as they walked with great pride to the school auditorium, setting a solemn yet celebratory tone for the event.
The auspicious ceremony began with the dignitaries lighting the ceremonial lamp, symbolising the marking of the beginning of a meaningful event, coming together in light and peace and working towards a common goal. This was followed by a prayer service invoking Divine blessings for the new student leaders, asking for strength and guidance in their duties. The welcome dance exuded warmth and hospitality. Akshatha, with her eloquent words, formally welcomed the gathering and introduced Prof Mathew Ninan the chief guest.
Following this, the student leaders marched to the dais to the beats of the school band. Prathibha announced the portfolios of the cabinet members and the principal assessed their readiness through a series of probing questions. Upon affirming their commitment to abide by the school's rules and regulations, the students took their pledge, vowing to faithfully fulfil their duties, respect the school’s standards and strive to uphold its honour. The principal and vice-principal then ceremonially pinned badges on the cabinet members, symbolizing the transfer of responsibility.
In a highlight of the ceremony, Sr Lilly Pushpa – the principal handed the school flag to the school pupil leader, reiterating the school’s motto, "Ever Onward." The school captain, Akshaj, expressed gratitude towards the principal and educators for their trust and promised dedicated efforts from the cabinet.
Chief guest Prof Mathew Ninan delivered an inspiring speech, explaining that a true leader is someone whose actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more. Further he emphasized the true essence of leadership and urged the student leaders to be role models, empathetic and collaborative.
The event concluded with the school anthem, beautifully compered by Ridha, Shreya Fathima, and Saanvi and concluded with a vote of thanks from vice-captain Aysha Manha.
