Mangaluru: Expert PU College celebrates International Yoga Day

Mangaluru, Jun 21: “The art of practicing yoga helps in controlling an individual’s mind, body, and soul. It brings together physical and mental disciplines to achieve a peaceful body and mind," said Yoga Guru Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady. He was speaking on the occasion of Tenth International Yoga Day Celebration, held at Expert PU College, Kodialbail, on Friday, June 21 keeping in mind the theme 'Yoga for self and society'.

Yoga Guru Yogarathna Gopalakrishna Delampady, principal, Prof Ramachandra Bhat and student representatives inaugurated the event with the lighting of the lamp.

Speaking on the occasion, Yogarathna Delampady stressed the need to practise yoga regularly for keeping the mind and body balanced and healthy. He highlighted that everyone can gain confidence, concentration, and a healthy mind and body through yoga and meditation. He also said that it is commendable that the Expert College has made Yoga a part of their academic programme on a daily basis.

To mark this occasion, Gopalakrishna Delampady and his disciples showcased many yoga demonstrations for expert II PUC students and faculty. Expert students performed various ‘asanas’ under his guidance in the expodium.

Ashwini Pai welcomed the gathering, compered the programme, and proposed a vote of thanks.
