Moodbidri, Jun 22: The students and staff of Carmel School enthusiastically celebrated the 10th International Yoga Day on June 21, guided by the theme 'Yoga for Self and Society'.
The event commenced with a serene prayer song and the lighting of the lamp by esteemed guests including Dr Swati K V, an expert in neuropathic and yogic science at Alvas college, Sr Maria Gracilda AC the principal, Sr Elena AC the administrator and Sr Ranitha the coordinator were also present for this special occasion.
The atmosphere was further enlivened by a welcoming dance performed by students, setting a warm tone for the proceedings. A poignant video emphasizing perseverance titled 'Never Give Up' captivated everyone's hearts. A graceful dance showcasing various yoga poses highlighted the precision and benefits of these asanas. The practical importance of yoga in daily life was vividly depicted through a well-executed skit.
In recognition of academic achievements, medals and certificates from the Little Olympiad and Silver Zone Olympiad exams were awarded to deserving students. Dr Swati K V elaborated on the significance of the three main paths of yoga in her address, enriching everyone is understanding of this ancient practice.
To engage participants further, Sr Maria Gracilda the principal, conducted a lively yoga quiz, testing their knowledge on different aspects of yoga. The event was skillfully hosted by Arjun and Inaara, with Eva extending a warm welcome to all attendees. Allyshia eloquently articulated the significance of the day, while Ahan delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks.
Overall, the International Yoga Day celebration at Carmel School was a resounding success, marked by enthusiastic participation and a deep appreciation for yoga's holistic benefits.
