Mangalore, Oct 26: The climate in coastal Karnataka remained cloudy for most part of the day on Tuesday October 25. Rain coupled with wind, thunder, and lightning, was experienced since evening late into the night on Tuesday in most places on the coast.

The spirit of the children, who were expecting to burst their pile of firecrackers at night, and shopkeepers, who were expecting to do a brisk business, were in for some disappointment as a result.

A person named Ranjeet Acharya (19) from Gundimane in Padukudoor,Karkala, died due to lightning when working on centring on Tuesday afternoon. In this incident, two others, Ashok Nayak (30), and Annappa(18), were injured. Both of them have been hospitalized.

The meteorological department has predicted partly cloudy sky and moderate to heavy rainfall/thundershowers in many places in coastal Karnataka. Its prediction valid till Thursday morning also says that some rain might occur at several places in south interior Karnataka and some more in north interior Karnataka.
