Mangaluru, Jun 24: A shocking incident unfolded late Sunday night in Bondel when a Vitara car parked in a car porch caught fire, causing significant damage to the surrounding area. The incident occurred around 11:30 PM, drawing the attention of passers-by who quickly sprang into action to manage the situation.

Witnesses reported seeing flames engulf the vehicle and immediately rushed to alert the nearby residents. They also attempted to extinguish the fire but were unable to control the rapidly spreading flames. The fire brigade which was alerted, responded with commendable speed.

By the time emergency services arrived, the Vitara car was completely engulfed in flames. The intense heat and fire damaged the car park and the entrance of a three-story building. However, the fire brigade's timely intervention ensured the residents were evacuated safely, averting any potential casualties.

Firefighters worked swiftly to bring the blaze under control, preventing it from spreading further into the residential building.
