Dubai, Oct 27 (IANS/WAM): The Dubai International Film Festival has collaborated with the L'Organisation Internationale de la Francophonie (OIF) to assist emerging and established filmmakers of the Arab world.
Established in 1970, the OIF is committed to encouraging solidarity between its 75 members and more than 890 million people worldwide, including 220 million French speakers.
Under the new partnership, the OIF will award a prize to a film project from one of the Arab world's Francophonie countries, including Egypt, Lebanon, Morocco and Tunisia.
The first OIF award will be presented during the festival to be held Dec 7-14.
Shivani Pandya, managing director of the Dubai International Film Festival, said: "The funding by OIF for a Dubai film project is another validation of our success in establishing a conduit between global film and cultural organisations and local and regional talent."
