Mangaluru: Rain eases in coastal region, Yellow Alert from Jul 10-13

Mangaluru, Jul 10: The intensity of rain in Dakshina Kannada district has reduced slightly. The district experienced moderate rainfall on Tuesday.

In Mangaluru city, there was a respite from the rain from morning till evening. The weather was a mix of sunshine and clouds. There was a heavy downpour in the evening, which later subsided.

In the district's Bantwal, Beltangady, Puttur, Sullia, and Subrahmanya areas, there was good rainfall in the evening. During the day, some places experienced sunny weather. Water levels receded in areas affected by floods on Monday.

The rainfall in Kodagu and Kasargod districts was also less on Tueaday compared to Monday. Heavy rain on Monday night caused damage to a house in Kulashekar's Silver Gate Veeranarayana Katte. MLA Vedavyas Kamath visited the site to inspect the damage.

According to the Indian Meteorological Department's forecast, a ‘Yellow Alert’ has been declared for the coastal region from July 10 to 13, indicating the possibility of significant rainfall. On Tuesday, the city recorded a maximum temperature of 29.4°C, which was 0.5°C above average. The minimum temperature recorded was 22.4°C, 0.8°C below average.

    When department declare yellow,orange, red alerts, on those days no rain and good sunshine, I think they must try black alert, just to try about rain.
