Bantwal, July 11: The Bantwal Taluk Agricultural Produce Cooperative Marketing Society Limited has reported a turnover of Rs 327 lacs in the financial year 2023-24, with a net profit of Rs 19.20 lacs, as announced by the society's president Ravindra Kambla during the society's AGM held at the BC Road Lions Seva Mandir on Thursday. The society has declared a dividend of Rs 10 per share to its members.
The society has received deposits exceeding Rs 2,597 lacs without any loans from banks, and has facilitated loans amounting to Rs 2,796 lacs. President Ravindra Kambla informed that the society has deposited Rs 2,375 lacs with the Dakshina Kannada Central Cooperative Bank and Cooperative Societies without any pending loans, and additionally, they have arranged for Rs 390 lacs as external balance.
The society has received an 'A' grade in the audit of its current financial status. They operate a central warehouse with owned investment in Ponnodi village, where 6 godowns are utilised, with 1 godown used for distribution to farmers and 4 godowns rented out.
The society operates with 2 branches, managing agricultural equipment and fertiliser sales in the Bantwal branch, and also handles banking transactions and justice value stores to facilitate distribution of produce to the people through various branches.
The society owns a private building on B C Road and Tumbe, which have been rented out. The Farangipet branch manages various loan facilities and e-stamping operations, and has a justice value store for distribution. All branches are computerised, and the society is progressing with the cooperation of its members and affiliates towards success.
The vice-president of the society, Shashikala Udupi, directors Umesh Poojari, P Venkatesh Navad, Rajesh Shetty, Venkatraya Prabhu, Ratna Shetty, Jnaneshwar Prabhu, Padmanabha Kidebettu, Rai Sundar Bhandari, Manohar Poovappa, Ram Naik, and Rohinath K were present on the dais.
The chief executive officer of the society, Y Dharmapal Bhandary, presented the annual report for the past year and outlined the programmes. Director B T Narayana Bhat delivered the vote of thanks. Relatives and cooperators participated in the event.
