Kundapur: Truck overturns – 25 tonnes of coke destroyed in mishap

Kundapur, Jul 13: Coke worth lacs of rupees was destroyed when a truck carrying it overturned at Kattemakki in Shankaranarayana village near Siddapura.

The truck, transporting 25 tonnes of coke from Mangaluru to Ballari, overturned when the driver tried to avoid a goods vehicle that suddenly crossed in front of him. In the process, he hit another goods vehicle, causing the truck to overturn. The truck sustained significant damage in the accident.

The driver and his father, who were in the truck, escaped without any injuries. There were three people in the goods vehicle, including driver Avinash, and they too escaped without injury.

Truck driver Purya (33) filed a complaint with the Shankaranarayana police station regarding the incident.
