Bantwal, Jul 13: The taluk continued to experience heavy rainfall, with significant flooding observed in the Netravati river on Saturday July 13.

Despite heavy rains earlier in the week, the water level in the Netravati river had been at 4 meters. However, by Friday night, it rose abruptly to 6.1 meters, reaching a critical level of 8.5 meters by Saturday morning, prompting authorities to issue warnings to residents along the riverbanks.

However, by Saturday evening, the water level had receded to 4.9 meters, bringing some relief to the administration of the taluk. Despite these challenges, the Bantwal taluk administration provided sufficient warnings and took necessary steps.
