Udupi neglected by state govt as it voted for BJP: Pramod Madhwaraj

Daijiworld Media Network - Udupi

Udupi, Jul 13: Former minister Pramod Madhwaraj has expressed outrage against the neglect of Udupi district by the district in-charge minister for not visiting the district amidst natural disasters like floods and the dangerous disease of dengue.

He questioned, "Why have the district administration ministers been so negligent towards Udupi district? It is condemnable that despite immense losses to people and their properties due to natural disasters, no relief measures have been implemented so far. Yashpal Suvarna, MLA of Udupi Assembly constituency, has requested the state government for an allocation of Rs 50 crore for relief efforts in Udupi district.

“The state government and the district in-charge ministers must immediately take appropriate action regarding natural disasters like floods and dengue. It is not acceptable to play politics at the expense of people's lives. Laxmi Hebbalkar, comes till Mangaluru, is not able to visit Udupi district. The government is neglecting the districts of Karavali because they have voted for the BJP. It is not right to bring politics to the level of playing with people's lives. The government should immediately take steps to control natural disasters such as floods and dengue,” he said.
